A Professional Voice Talent...

From the guy next door to a powerful voice of authority, John can easily take his voice from calm and comforting to compelling and confident, and everything in between. He also knows no bounds when it comes to genre and client – John has worked on numerous commercials, animations, and narration projects for clients like Raisin Bran, Mercedes Benz, and the United States Marine Corps, among many others. He’s an award-winning VO professional, recently recognized by the One Voice Awards in 2021 as the best male performance in a radio commercial, and again in 2022 as the best male performance in a TV commercial.

John’s voiceover journey has been anything but straightforward. Born and raised in the Boston suburbs, he first caught the acting bug at age 12 when he began participating in school stage productions. He’s also what you might call “wicked smaht,” always excelling in school and earning top grades. John went on to attend Harvard University and graduate cum laude with his bachelor’s in Chemistry, but the acting bug never went away. While in college, he continued with theater at the Harvard Radcliffe Dramatic Club; and after graduating, John put his degree to use as a full-time applications chemist by day, but still continued to explore his passion as a stage actor in local productions by night.

In 1996, John decided to try his hand as a professional actor. He resigned from his job as a chemist and moved to L.A. to pursue film and television roles. Acting as a profession proved to be difficult, pushing John to another career change as a forensic accountant for a litigation consulting firm; but L.A. is also where John first explored voiceover, and that early training made a lasting impression. So lasting, in fact, that when John left the litigation firm in 2015, he made the choice to return to acting as a voiceover professional; and he hasn’t looked back since.

John now lives in the Highland Park neighborhood of Los Angeles with his wife Daisy. He works from his professional-grade home studio equipped with Sennheiser 416 and Neumann TLM-103 mics, Apollo Twin Duo audio interface with Avalon 737 preamp plugin, and Adobe Audition DAW. Outside the booth, John is a stepfather to his stepson, Jason, and a cat daddy to two cats named Harry and Spike. He loves movies, music, the piano, and all Boston sports teams.
